My Story:
My whole life, I’d been chubby. Okay who are we kidding? I’d been fat. ‘Obese’. My weight was a serious enough health issue that my parents were considering my pleas for weight loss surgery because I was certain I couldn’t conquer it on my own. And then one morning, a light flipped. At 22 years old, I was fed up with feeling tired, slow, and unhappy. I’d recently graduated from university and ended a long term live-in relationship and I was searching for some much needed life direction. In March 2014, I decided to take charge of my life and make a change. I told myself if I wanted surgery, I’d have to show myself and everyone else that I was serious about changing my lifestyle. I started by going to the gym (at first 3-4 times a week. Now 6-7 days a week), lifting weights, and eating a clean diet tailored to my needs. It only took a few weeks for me to realize that the changes I wanted to make were within my own control. I didn’t need to go under the knife 🔪🔪🔪 I NEEDED TO GET UNDER THE BAR
Since June 2014, I’ve lost 110+ pounds without surgery and found a new perspective on life, nutrition and fitness. I’m chronicling my journey on Instagram @theirongiantess. Fight for it. Grind for it. Because you’ll never regret it.
