The question often comes up, as to who should follow a bulk and cut cycle and who should try and build muscle and lose fat at the same time. Generally speaking, if you’re a new weightlifter, or you’re new to well programmed consistent weightlifting, you should be able to build muscle and lose fat at the same time.

On the other hand, if you’re someone that has several years or proper compound lifting under their belt, it may be better for you to focus on bulking phases, where you put on muscle with a bit of fat, then go into cutting phases where you cut the fat, and keep the muscle.
